DIY: Polkadot Jean Shorts

You will need:

  • A pair of jean shorts
  • Fabric paint
  • A pencil with an unused eraser
  • Small paint brush

(I used: Forever21 jean shorts, Tulip soft matte fabric paint in Glacier White, a new mechanical pencil, fine tip paint brush) image

  1. Lay the shorts flat on a hard surface. Pour a little bit of the fabric paint in a shallow dish & lightly dip the eraser side of the pencil into the paint. Begin dotting by pressing the eraser onto the shorts.
(Don’t worry if it the dots are not perfect, we can fix it later!)image
  2. When finished dotting the front of your shorts, let them dry for 20-30 minutes. Continue the process on the back.image
  3. After the back of the shorts have dried, take the paint brush & carefully fill in any light parts of the polkadots. Continue on the front.

  4. And…YOU’RE DONE! Enjoy the compliments as you strut in your new shorts(:

DIY: Revamped Toms

Decided to give my classic black Toms a make over.

  1. Started with 3 coats of gold fabric paint & let it dry for an hour
  2. Used fabric glue to secure the strips of black lace onto the shoes
  3. Tied a pretty black lace bow & sewed it on!

Still as comfortable as when I got them, now with a little more statement!
